Travelling At Night World Hub

Places, people, Worms, and the Cold War Spencer walks into

World Hub

The World hub situates Travelling At Night’s combat-free Introduction in alternate 1948 Europe. You are not reading a generic fantasy gazetteer—you are stepping into Weather Factory’s Secret Histories after the War-in-the-World, where Incorporates and Ministries wage a strange Cold War and cities remember chitin, leaf, and amber.

Pages

  • Map locations — Gare d’Antibes, town landmarks, Sanitarium Aujourd’hui, Mimata seam.
  • Companions — Vincent now; Lalla Chaima and Corso Reverte later.
  • Antibes NPCs — twenty-plus characters from libraire to director.
  • Lore primer — enough cosmology to play without a thesis.

How to use world pages

Skim map locations before a guided run, use NPC roles when stuck, read companions before recruitment, and open the lore primer only if tooltips feel hostile. World knowledge should accelerate play, not replace it. Pair with Antibes walkthrough and Find Nenah.

Tone of the setting

Perma-gloom Riviera rain, war-torn streets, candle-lit cafés, Incorporate-sponsored clinical calm, and Spencer’s hollowed memory. No combat encounters interrupt the noir—pressure is social, spiritual, and bureaucratic via Dread and Trace.

Demo border

Full travelling comes later: more than a dozen locations from Hush House in Brancrug to colder eastern routes. Demo Antibes is the deep first slice—Cultist Simulator–scale words in one chapter. Feeling unfinished after Mimata is expected.

Connect to builds

Careers change which rooms feel like home; Passions change which NPCs you forgive; Skills change which Signs you notice. World pages stay useful across starter builds. Official storefronts and developer posts sit on Wiki links.

World reading order

Map locations → NPC roles → Companions → Factions/Worms → Lore primer → Rosa Mundi horizons. Playing between each page beats binge-reading. The world hub exists so you can jump to the layer you lack: geography, people, party, cosmology.

Continuity with prior games

Hush House name-drops and Cross-nature talk reward Book of Hours veterans without locking newcomers out. If a reference sings past you, Footnote it later. Antibes remains readable as noir CRPG space even if Mansus vocabulary is new.

World versus guides

World pages describe who and where; guides describe how. If you catch yourself using NPC lists as scripts, switch back to walkthrough method language. If you catch yourself walking without knowing landmark names, return here. The hub is orientation, not a spoiler engine.

After full release

Expect this hub to grow regional children. Antibes articles should remain stable Introduction canon. When Hush House or eastern routes arrive, they get their own leaves rather than overwriting demo geography.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers drawn from the demo and official notes.

Is the demo open world?

It is a dense Introduction hub—town plus sanitarium—not the full multi-region pilgrimage.

Do I need lore before playing?

No. Primer is optional; tooltips and Footnotes teach.

Are companions world content or builds?

Both—roster lives here; recruitment tactics live in Guides.

Will full-game maps invalidate this hub?

They will expand it. Antibes pages remain the Introduction reference.
