Travelling At Night Replay Antibes with a second Career

Contrast beats perfection in Weather Factory’s word-dense Introduction

Replay Guide

Travelling At Night’s public demo is not a one-path checklist. Weather Factory compares Antibes to Cultist Simulator’s launch word count—you will not see everything in a single Career. The best use of run two is contrast: a different Passion thesis, different landmark priorities, and deliberate discovery of systems you skipped while hunting Nenah. This replay guide assumes you finished—or nearly finished—Complete demo once.

Why replay before wishlist rage

Players who treat the Introduction as a failed open-world 100% map often bounce. Players who restart with a new Career often describe the demo as “finally clicking.” The game sells persona, not combat victory. Run two teaches what run one hid: how outfits gate institutions, how Footnotes flavour Passions, how crafts tax Trace, and how Vincent changes social texture.

Pick a deliberate opposite

If run one was Physician with Compassion, try Writer with Whimsy or Exorcist with Sorrow—not because tier lists demand it, but because Antibes classrooms respond differently. Use Career tier as inspiration, not law. Lock a Passion that contradicts your first motive on purpose. Note the choice in the Build Planner before you leave the station.

Route differently on purpose

Run one probably followed Antibes walkthrough order. Run two should skip a pillar you overvisited—café if you Trace-spiralled, church if you over-crafted, sanitarium if you Nenah-obsessed—and deepen a pillar you ignored. See Map locations for landmark roles. Heart-led detours remain unspoiled here; practise Passion coherence via Find Nenah instead of GPS paste.

Systems homework for run two

Run two is when you finally read Skill checks if checks felt random. Craft at least one new station pair via Craft items. Footnote two Memories you ignored. Swap outfits before institutional scenes per Outfits. Manage Dread proactively—Manage Dread—instead of reacting after three failures.

Vincent on the second pass

If you missed Vincent on run one, recruit deliberately via Recruit Vincent. If you had him, notice how aided rolls change the same dialogue. Weather Factory’s August shipping notes confirm Vincent can follow with both orderly and casual kits—treat him as a mechanic tutor, not only flavour.

What to log between runs

In the Build Planner or a paper journal, record: Career / Passion / peak Dread / peak Trace / crafts succeeded / Footnotes taken / Vincent yes-no / Nenah progress (light spoilers). After Mimata, compare runs in three sentences. That paragraph is worth more than a leaked route map.

Avoid replay traps

Do not restart because one check failed—that is the design. Do not restart hunting combat that will not arrive. Do not speedrun Mimata to “finish the game”—the slice ends at the seam by intent; see Demo status. Do not machine-translate forum spoilers into your second run; use wiki method pages instead.

Third run and beyond

A third Career is optional luxury. If you still have appetite, try Conjurer after Exorcist, or Physician after Writer, until sixteen skills stop feeling like abstract names. Pair with Starter builds only if you want training wheels off.

Pair with updates and platforms

Linux players confirming native builds: Linux demo. Storefront timing: Platforms. Honest expectations: Demo impressions. Replay is how demo literacy compounds while the full pilgrimage remains TBA—Full-game locations describes the horizon, not tonight’s homework.

Closing mantra

One Career teaches rain. Two Careers teach verbs. Three Careers teach who Spencer might become when Rosa Mundi finally moves. Replay is not failure—it is the CRPG.

Session template for run two

Forty-five minutes: one skipped pillar revisited, one new craft, one Footnote, one meter audit, one Nenah evidence class. Stop before Trace boredom. Bookmark Beginner mistakes if old habits return.

When to stop replaying

Stop when you can explain checks, crafts, outfits, Footnotes, and meters without opening every guide. Wishlist, share Steam 2915730, and wait for the night train. Antibes notes remain valid Introduction canon forever.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers drawn from the demo and official notes.

Is a second Career required?

Not required, but strongly recommended—the demo is built for contrast, not one perfect path.

Do saves carry between Careers?

Use separate saves or restarts per Career; do not assume cross-Career continuity unless the client offers it.

Should run two use guides again?

Skim Skill checks and Craft items; route differently rather than rereading every word linearly.

Does replay spoil the full game?

Introduction literacy transfers; full-game locations and companions expand later without invalidating Antibes skills.
